Pilotage: One River Plate pilot embarks at Recalada pilot station or at Montevideo joint point (JP= 35 03 S - 056 09 W).
Then two River Parana pilots embark at Zona Comun and sail the vessel up to San Lorenzo roads. Harbor pilot in/out. Viceversa.

COPPER CONCENTRATE LOADING FACILITIES

Berth: Minera Alumbrera Ltd. km 535 of the River Parana.

Length: 166 mts. Five berthing dolphins and head/stern mooring dolphins.

Depth: Alongside pier between 42 to 45 ft.

Storage:

Loadrate: About 5.000 to 7.000 mtons daily.

Port facilities: Includes a rail car unloading building, where the fiberglass covers of the wagons are removed and a cat 330I excavator is used to remove the concentrate from the vagons. The concentrate then is transferred to a ‘A’ frame shed. Two front-end loaders are used to transfer the concentrate from the stockpile to the 36’’ shiploader feed conveyors. Before being loaded on the ship, the material transfers through a sampling and static weighing station, for product control. From the weighing / sampling station the concentrate is transferred to a radial shiploader, which loads the vessels tied along side the pier.

Remarks: Warping of the vessel will be required.

Bunkers and fresh water: Not available at berth.
